Abstract
ABSTRACT
This studJ investigates the role of car tracking systems in addressing the prevalent issue of car theft and enhancing vehicle security. It examines the integration of technologies such as GPS. GSMIGPRS, RFID, telematics, and loT within car tracking systems, analyzing their effectiveness in real-time tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization. By studJ ing current trends in car theft and the sophisticated methods employed by thieves, the research highlights the challenges faced by vehicle owJJ,ers and insurance companies. The effectiveness ofcar tracking systems in preventing theft and aiding in the recovery of stolen vehicles is demonstrated through detailed case studies and real-world implementations. Furthermore, the study explores the potential of integrating these systems with smart city infrastructure andfuture autonomous vehicle technologies, emphasizing their importance in enhancing urban mobility and public safety Despite the benefits, the research identifies challenges such as technological limitations, privacy concerns, and cost barriers, offering recommendations for technological improvements, robust data security measures, cost reduction strategies, and increased user education. The conclusion underscores the necessity for continued research, development, and collaboration among technology providers, law enforcement, and policymakers to maximize the potential of car tracking systems. Keywords: car tracking systems, vehicle security, car theft prevention, GPS, GSMJGPRS, RFID, telematics, /oT, smart city integration, autonomous vehicles.
