Construction of an Automated Green House Weather Control System

ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and construction of an automated greenhouse weather control system aimed at optimizing environmental conditions for plant growth. The system is built around an Arduino Uno microcontroller, which serves as the central unit for monitoring and controlling internal greenhouse climate parameters. The core sensors and actuators used in this system include a DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement, a 12V DC exhaust fan for temperature regulation, a 12V DC pressure pump and fogger for maintaining humidity, and a two-way relay module to switch the devices ON or OFF based on preset environmental thresholds. A 16 x 2 LCD as interfaced with the Arduino to display real-time temperature and humidity readings, providing the user with constant feedback on the internal conditions of the greenhouse. A 12V 5Ah battery powers the system, ensuring uninterrupted operation in the absence of direct electrical supply. The system was housed in a small greenhouse room, making it suitable for small-scale farming or experimental horticulture setups. The automation logic ensures that the fan is activated when the temperature exceeds a preset value, while the pressure pump and fogger are turned on when the humidity drops below a specific threshold, thereby creating a self-regulating environment. This approach reduces the need for manual intervention, conserves energy, and promotes healthier plant growth. The successful implementation of this project demonstrates a cost-effective and scalable solution for smart agriculture applications.
