Development of a Secure Digital Library (case Study of Michael and Cecilia Ibru University)

This research focuses on the design ad implementation of a secure digital library system for Michael and Cecilia Ibru University. The project addresses the growing need for accessible, efficient, and secure management of academic resources in a modern university setting, moving beyond the limitations of traditional physical libraries. The developed system leverages a robust combination of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap 5, jQuery, and JavaScript for a user-friendly and responsive front-end. The back-end functionalities, including core logic and database interactions, are powered by PHP and MySQL, ensuring efficient data handling and integrity.
The research involved a thorough analysis of existing resource management practices to identify key challenges, particularly concerning accessibility, scalability, and security. Consequently, the new system was engineered with a strong emphasis on data security, user authentication, and content integrity. Key features include advanced search capabilities, structured categorization of digital assets, and secure mechanisms for content upload and retrieval. This digital library aims to significantly enhance the academic experience by providing 24/7 global access to a vast array of digital resources, streamlining resource management for the university, and protecting valuable intellectual property and user data. The successful implementation demonstrates a highly flexible, user-friendly, and secure platform poised to revolutionize how Michael and Cecilia Ibru University manages and disseminates its academic knowledge.
