Anti Bacterial Activity of Thesium Viride Leaf Extract Against Selected Enteric Bacteria

Abstract
The study investigated the phytochemical screening and antibacterial activity of Aqeous extract of thesium viride leaves extract against Escherichia coli,and , salmonella typhi. the result of phytochemicals screening show presence to alkalords, cardiac glycosides, saponins, phenolic com compounds, tannins, steroids, carbonic rates flavonoid, terpenoids and anthraguinones. The antibacterial activity was carried out using agar well diffusion method the Aqeous extract had activity against the test isolate the minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration for the extract at four concentration tested (100mg, 50mg, 25mg 12.5mg/ml). Was present. There was no visible, growth at most of theses concentration. The MIC value for Escherichia coli was 25 while that of S. typhi was 12.5and MBC value for both organism was at concentration (50mg/ml) for e.coli and (100mg/ml) for s.typhi which was tested and recorded due to the absence of visible growth at these concentration the result of this study proofs scientifically that thesium viride leaves has activity against (E coli, and S. typhi) and therefore, can be used to treat infections caused by these organism.
