Negation in Efifa, Ajowa

Abstract
This study examines Negation im Èfìfà;one of the endangered languages of Nigeria..Efifa is spoken in Ajowa of Akoko North west local government in Ondo state.The data for research were gathered from informants who are the native speakers of the language. The sentences with Negation paradigm designed by the researcher were dedicated to the informants and their responses were recorded both in short and long hand for purpose of analysis and transcription. The study adopts government and binding theory for it's analysis, the study identifies the Negation constituent in the language. It is established that a relative clause is derived through Rel that projects into RelP and IP as ita complement. The research reveals that the subject NP, object NP and verb can be a Negation. This research serves as a part of the documentation of an aspect of the syntax of Efifa.
