Web Based Vehicle Maintenance Tracking Application Development for the University Pool

This project addresses the need for an advanced vehicle maintenance tracking system tailored
specifically for the university pool at Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). The
current manual maintenance processes are error-prone, time-consuming, and lack real-time
accessibility as well as being prone to damage or loss. The proposed web-based application
aims to revolutionize this system by automating maintenance record-keeping, introducing
real-time data access, and enhancing overall efficiency. The scope of work encompasses
planning, designing, and prototyping the user interface, with development spanning both
frontend and backend components. Key features include user authentication, authorization, vehicle owners and drivers management, vehicle information data management, reports
generation for accidents, scheduled maintenance tracking and notifications, vehicle logging, maintenance personnel management, and maintenance activities logging. Rigorous testing
ensures the robustness and reliability of the web application, covering functionality, security, and performance. The deployment to a secure hosting environment marks the final stage, making the application ready for practical utilization. This initiative not only promises to
streamline maintenance operations but also addresses critical aspects of cost management. The enhanced maintenance tracking capabilities translate into substantial financial benefits by
