Patients' Perception and Satisfaction With Healthcare Services at Outpatient Department of Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo Osun State.

Abstract
The study assesses patients’ perception and satisfaction with healthcare services at outpatient department of Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. It made use of descriptive research design with a sample size of one hundred and sixty (160) which was selected using simple random sampling technique. Data was collected through self -structured questionnaires. Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS 25.0) was thereafter used for the analysis. Majority of the respondents fall within the age range of 18-25 years and 26-30 years, with each group constituting 23.8% Respondents with secondary education comprise the largest group at 35.5%, followed closely by those with tertiary education at 31.3%. Majority of the respondents are married, accounting for 50.6% of the total sample size while the singles represent 19.4%. This study shows that majority of the respondents (69.4%) indicated that the actual wait time matched their expectation, while 30.6% reported that it did not. Additionally, slightly over half of the respondents (51.2%) reported receiving explanation for the wait, while 48.8% did not receive any explanation.
Also, majority of the respondents (93.8%) reported that healthcare workers were respectful and courteous in their interaction, with only a small percentage (6.2%) stating otherwise.93.1% of the respondent indicated that addressing scheduling issues would improve patients’ satisfaction, thereby, suggesting that optimizing appointment scheduling processes could lead to greater convenience and reduced waiting time for the patients.96.9% believed that allocating additional staff or resources could help reduce wait times and further enhance patients experience.
