Abstract
This study examines copula construction in Bassa Nge, a language spoken in Kogi State. Copula construction links a subject to a complement or predicate, classified into three types, which are specification , predicational , and identification .The study explores the forms and functions of copula constructions in Bassa Nge, contributing to our understanding of the language's grammatical structure and linguistic diversity.Through a descriptive analysis of linguistic data, this research explores the forms and functions of copula constructions in Bassa Nge, including the use of copula verbs "yi" and "ci" in different sentence types.The Bassa Nge people has a unique socio-cultural profile, the uniqueness of the culture shows forth its heritage .Which include religion, marriage ceremony, occupation, food ,festival, education and dressing.
