The study used a survey questionnaire to collect data from a sample of adult females in Ilorin Kwara State, and also conducted in-depth interviews with a subset of respondents to gather more detailed and nuanced data. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPPS), data analysis software was used to analyze the quantitative data. The majority of respondents are young adults, suggesting that younger individuals may be more exposed to sustainable fashion trends. Economic factors also played a role, as many respondents agreed that financial constraints and affordability impact their ability to adopt sustainable fashion. Respondents also recognized that sustainable fashion practices contribute to reducing waste and pollution. Based on the findings of the study, it can be concluded that the study has provided valuable insights into the level of awareness, influencing factors, and adoption of sustainable fashion practices among adult females in Ilorin, Kwara State. The findings revealed a moderate level of awareness of sustainable fashion, with respondents showing familiarity with concepts such as circular fashion, eco-friendly brands, and the environmental impact of fast fashion. However, there remains a gap in practical adoption, as many individuals still prioritize economic considerations over sustainability. While environmental concerns, personal values, and media influence were significant determinants of sustainable fashion adoption, peer influence and avoidance of fast fashion brands were less impactful. This suggests that while sustainability is increasingly recognized, social pressure does not play a major role in influencing apparel choices, contradicting previous studies that emphasized the role of peer networks in sustainable consumption. The study recommended that Entrepreneurship programs should be established to support local sustainable fashion designers and textile manufacturers. Financial grants, training, and technological support should be provided to encourage ethical production and consumption.
