Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigates The Use of Artificial Intelligence for Information Search Among the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Members Kaduna. The major objective of this study is to examine how AI aids journalists in information search, its implications on accuracy, quality, and credibility and identifying ethical challenges journalists face. Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A descriptive research methodology was employed using a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data from a sample size of 270 NUJ Kaduna members who were picked using a convenience sampling technique. The findings revealed that the information journalist get from AI can’t be a breaking news it is usually an existing news that has been logged in AI database. The study concludes AI positively impacts the quality and credibility of journalism among NUJ members in Kaduna. Therefore, this study recommends that NUJ Kaduna and other media organizations should seek funding and partnerships to make advanced AI tools and databases more accessible to journalists. This could involve government grants or partnerships with tech firms.
