Impacts of Product Planning on Organization Sales Turnover (a Case Study of Dangote Floormill Plc Ilorin, Kwara State)

ABSTRACT
In today’s global market, businesses are faced with intensive competition and in order to obtain a sustainable competitive advantage, they have to adopt processes and system for development of their new products, as well as the improvement of the existing products through innovation. This study was designed to investigate the relationship between product planning and organization sales turnover. The data was collected from the marketing managers, operation managers and those managers who have been involving greatly in product planning. A total of 150 useable questionnaires were completed though research sample of 135 employees were studied. The results of the study were interpreted using Durbin-Watson and SPSS package for the analysis of appropriate statistical methods. The findings show that the impact of product planning on organizational sales turnover was higher in Dangote Floormill Ilorin, when consumers perceive product quality as stronger, more favorable and more unique. Size and design of the product process exert a positive impact on product planning and organization sales turnover. To literature, the study has supported previous studies on product planning and performance. Therefore, it was recommended that quality, size and design of product planning should be maintained continuously to develop appropriate product continually.
