Abstract
ABSTRACT
The Improvement on the design and fabrication of automated solar power lawn mower was significantly enhanced by incorporating a camera system instead of traditional sensors. This innovative change, along with the adjustment in blade positioning, has resulted in a notable improvement in the overall performance of the solar-powered lawn mower. The newly designed machine consists of various essential components such as electric motors, a charge controller, a DC battery, a Solar Panel for efficient energy conversion, a rotational blade for cutting grass, an Arduino microcontroller for precise control, a camera for real-time visual feedback, and a remote control for easy operation.
The functionality of the solar-powered lawn mower is powered by a DC battery that is exclusively charged by a solar panel, showcasing a sustainable and eco-friendly approach. The machine is driven by four DC motors which are meticulously programmed and controlled by an Arduino microcontroller, specifically the ATmega 328p model. This microcontroller receives signals from the ESP32-CAM WI-FI module strategically positioned on the mower, enabling seamless communication and feedback between the operator and the machine.
Extensive testing has confirmed the feasibility of this advanced design, recording an impressive efficiency rate of 83.4%. this implies that the machine can effectively detect obstacles, and can be navigated effectively using the remote control. The meticulous selection of components aimed at reducing costs, weight, and power consumption has contributed to the overall efficiency of the machine. The fabrication process, programming of the camera and Arduino Nano, as well as the assembly of components, were all crucial steps in ensuring the successful implementation of this automated lawn mower technology.
The integration of the camera system not only enhances the performance of the mower but also provides real-time visual feedback to the operator, further improving the overall user experience. The continuous advancements in automated lawn mower technology showcase the potential for increased efficiency and convenience in lawn maintenance tasks.
