Effect of Entrepreneurship Education on Unemployment Reduction in Kano Metropolis. a Study in Department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Bayero University Kano (buk)

Entrepreneurship education is a variable tool that determined the success and growth of entrepreneurial ventures. This study therefore examines the effect of entrepreneurship education on unemployment reduction in Department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Bayero University Kano (BUK). Survey research design was employed in the study which is cross sectional. Primary data were collected through hand- administration of questionnaire to respondent using convenient sampling techniques. The data were collected from a sample of 85 out of a population of 125 final year students of Department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship of Bayero University Kano (BUK). Furthermore, descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data that were collected for the research with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20. The findings revealed that teaching and learning, outreach, strategy have significant effect on the reduction of unemployment among student of Department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship of Bayero University Kano (BUK). Therefore, it is recommended that Bayero Universiry, Kano should concentrate on entrepreneurship teaching and learning, government should strengthen entrepreneurship education in existing public universities and other higher institution rather than creating more and Government in collaboration with other large enterprises should make funding provision at very low cost available to students who are ready to establish their own business on graduation.
