Abstract
This study examines the role of insurance industries in the promotion of capital market services in Nigeria. Secondary data was used, and a simple linear regression model was adopted to evaluate the effect of insurance activities on capital market performance. Hypotheses were tested at a 5% significance level using ANOVA. Findings indicate that insurance risk-mitigation activities significantly influence capital market development, while insurance investment and capital mobilization show weaker but relevant contributions. The study recommends strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing transparency, improving investor protection, and widening access to the capital market for SMEs and retail investors.
