Job Prospects of Library and Information Science Graduates in Cross River State

Abstract
The broad objective of this study is to examine Job Prospect of Library and Information
Science Graduates in private university libraries using Cross River State. Survey research
design was adopted for the study and with the aid of convenient sampling method, the
researcher selected One hundred and twenty (120) participant from) university of Calabar
in Cross River State as the respondent of the study. Well structured questionnaire was issued
to the respondent of which total of 120 responses were retrieved and validated for the study.
Data was analyzed in frequencies and tables using simple percentage. The findings
revealed that There is a significant relationship between the demand for library and
information science graduates in Cross River State and their job prospects. There is a
significant relationship between employment opportunities for library and information
science graduates in Cross River State and their job prospects. There is a significant
relationship between implementing measures to enhance the employability of library and
information science graduates in Cross River State and their job prospects and career
outcomes. There is a significant relationship between the challenges library and
information science graduates encounter when seeking employment and their job prospects In Cross River State.
