Ethnographic and doctrinal research methodologies were adopted to understand the local dispute resolution mechanisms existing in the locations of study.
It was found that the influence of Islamic law as a mediating factor in the variants of customary law in Kwara central and Kwara north senatorial district were more pronounced than its effect in the Kwara south senatorial district.
