Political Leadership and Underdevelopment in Nigeria: a Study of Buhari’s Administration

Abstract
This study investigated “Political Leadership and Underdevelopment in Nigeria: A Study of Buhari’s Administration” The study specifically sought to examine the influence of political appointments and leadership style on national development outcomes, analyze the impact of policy inconsistency and implementation gaps on socio-economic development, assess the role of accountability deficits and transparency in promoting underdevelopment, and evaluate the impact of ethno-religious favoritism and regional imbalance on national cohesion and equitable development. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The study population comprised 572 members and staff of the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Abuja.
