Assessing the Effects of Flooding on Livelihoods in Igabi Local Government, Kaduna State

Abstract
This study investigated the impacts of flooding on livelihoods in Hayin Na'iya and Mangoron Agwai communities of Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The research aimed to identify the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the affected households, the perceived causes of flooding, the socio-economic impacts of flooding on livelihoods, and the possible solutions to support households affected by floods. The study also sought to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on flood risk management and sustainable livelihoods. A quantitative data collection and analysis methods was adopted. A survey questionnaire was administered to 48 respondents, and the data was analyzed using percentages statistics.
