Abstract
This study examined the influence of social media on the level of awareness and youths'involvement in the"Obidient Movement" during the 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria, focusing on Enugu urbanresidents. The "Obidient Movement" emerged as one of the most significant youth-drivenpolitical phenomena in Nigerian history, largely facilitated by online participation throughplatforms such as Twitter (X), Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The study adopted a surveyresearch design to collect data from 200 respondents drawn from various local governmentareas within Enugu urban. Findings revealed that social media significantly increased politicalawareness among youths, encouraged active participation, and provided a platform formobilization and dissemination of campaign information. The research concluded that socialmedia was instrumental in shaping political consciousness and collective youth action during theelection.Recommendations include improved digital literacy programs and responsible use of onlineplatforms for democratic engagemen
