Abstract
ABSTRACTThe research explores how the dichloromethane (DCM) from Uraria picta affects estrogen, progesterone and aromatase levels. It emphasises the importance of understanding hormonal regulation in health and disease. Estrogen, progesterone and aromatase play crucial roles in reproductive health, bone metabolism, cardiovascular function, and hormone-sensitive cancers. The study aims to uncover the impact of Uraria picta's DCM fraction on these hormones, potentially leading to new therapies. The methodology describes the experimental setup, including dosages for control, monosodium glutamate (MSG) (800mg/kg), and MSG/UP (100mg/kg) groups. It measures estradiol, progesterone, and aromatase levels to assess Uraria picta's effects. The discussion interprets the results. MSG (800 mg/kg) increased estradiol and aromatase but decreased progesterone compared to controls. In contrast, MSG/UP (100 mg/kg) decreased estradiol but increased progesterone, potentially inhibiting aromatase. These findings reveal complex interactions between treatments and hormone levels, suggesting Uraria picta's therapeutic potential for hormone-related conditions. In summary, the study sheds light on Uraria picta's hormonal effects. Changes in estrogen, progesterone, and aromatase levels suggest its potential as a natural remedy for hormone- related disorders. Further research is needed to understand its mechanisms and clinical applications.
