Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study “Causative factors contributing to school drop-out among girl-child students at thejunior secondary school level in Gwale Local Government, Kano State. The research utilized asample size of 248 questionnaires distributed to students to collect data. Various factors wereanalyzed, including poverty, parental education levels, cultural influences, and inadequate schoolinfrastructure. The findings indicate that poverty and lack of parental support are significantcontributors to school drop-out rates. This study aims to provide recommendations forpolicymakers and stakeholders to improve the education of girls in this region. The researchunderscores the need for targeted interventions that address these multifaceted challenges,including community awareness programs, financial support for families, and improvements inschool infrastructure. Overall, this study aims to provide actionable recommendations forpolicymakers, educators, and community leaders to enhance the educational opportunities forgirls in Gwale Local Government, thereby reducing the school drop-out rates and promotinggender equality in education.
