Abstract
ABSTRACTÂ This study examined the African Star Apple (Chrysophyllum albidum) to identify its phytochemical and anti-nutritional components. The fruit contained beneficial compounds like flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and phenols with antioxidant and therapeutic properties. Anti-nutritional factors such as oxalates and phytates were found in low levels, posing minimal health risks. Overall, the results show that C. albidum has significant nutritional and medicinal value, supporting its use in traditional medicine and healthy diets.
