Abstract
The study investigated "motivational factors associated with secretaries job satisfaction in private tertiary institutions": Case study of Fountain University Osogbo cind Redeemers' University Ede, Osun State. This study focuses on the motivational factors impacting job salisfaction among secretaries in private tertiary institutions. Four research questions guided this study, which they are; (i) to what extent does job security influence secretaries job salis/action in Fountain University, Osogbo, and Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State, (i) to what extent does recognition and appreciation influence secretaries job satisfaction in Fountain University, Osogbo, and Redeemers University Ede, Osun State, (li) to what extent does work-life balance influence secretaries job satisfaction in Fountain University, Osogbo and Redeemers University Ede, Osun State and (iv) to what extent does fair compensation and benefits influence secretaries job satisfaction in Fountain University, Osogbo and Redeemers University Ede, Osun State. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population comprised fifty-one (51) secrelaries in the area of the study. A structured questionnaire was used to clicit information from the respondents and simple mean method was used to analyze data. Based on the findings, the study shows that secretaries job satisfaction were influenced by job security, recognition and appreciation, work-life balance and fair compensation and benefits. It was recommended that institutions should consider reviewing and improving the financial rewards offered to secretaries. Competitive salaries, bonuses, and other financial incentives can significantly boost motivation and job satisfaction.
