Abstract
This study examines the impact of insecurity on agricultural productivity in Nigeria, with a focus on insurgency, banditry, and farmer-herder conflicts. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data was collected from displaced farmers originally from Borno, Zamfara, and Kaduna states, currently residing in Kano. The findings reveal that insecurity disrupts agricultural activities through farm abandonment, loss of livestock, displacement of farmers, and restricted access to markets.
Statistical analysis, including regression models and hypothesis testing, confirms a significant negative impact of insecurity on agricultural productivity. The study recommends enhanced security measures, policy interventions, and targeted support programs to mitigate these effects and ensure food security.
