Abstract
Field trial was conducted during 2024 wet season at research farm of Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta, in Makoda Local Government Area of Kano State. The treatment consists of single factor, three level of NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer rates (150, 200 and 250 kg ha-1 respectively). The treatments were laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD), replicated three times. The result of the study revealed that, NPK application at 250 kg ha-1 and 200 kg ha-1 rate gave similar response in growth parameters such as crop vigour, number of leaves, plant height and numbers of branches while leaf area index application at 250 kg ha-1 outperformed other rates including fresh yield parameter.
