Abstract
This project presents the design and implementation of a Casefile Information Management System, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of crime record management for law enforcement agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). Traditional manual methods of managing casefiles are plagued by inefficiencies, including document loss, data redundancy, and delays in retrieving critical information, which hinder effective crime investigation and judicial processes. The proposed system addresses these challenges by providing a centralized digital platform for storing, organizing, and tracking case-related information. The system leverages modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with MySQL for database management, ensuring secure, real-time access to casefiles. Key functionalities include automated workflows, role-based access control, crime data analysis, and report generation, all designed to improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and collaboration among stakeholders. By transitioning from paper-based to digital record-keeping, the system minimizes human errors, enhances data security, and facilitates quicker decision-making. The study highlights the system’s potential to streamline police investigations, reduce case backlogs, and improve public safety through better crime tracking and analysis.
