Abstract
probiotics (Saccharomyces cerevisae) as growth promoters in Arbor Acre broiler birds. Some Sensory Evaluation parameters were specifically examined and reported. A total of ninety (84) broiler birds was used and randomized into four (4) treatments with each treatment replicated thrice. The four experimental diets were compounded such that diet 1 contained standard conventional feed without probiotics. Diet 2 contained standard conventional feed with the addition of probiotics (0.1gkg-1SC). Diet 3 had probiotics (0.3gkg-1 SC) and diet 4 also had probiotics (0.5gkg-1 SC) as a growth promoting additive. The additive supplementation of broiler feeds using (Saccharomyces cerevisae) indicated had no adverse effects on the Sensory evaluation of the experimental birds. All the Sensory evaluation parameters examined (Aroma, flavor, Tenderness Juiciness, Saltiness and Overall Acceptability) had similar values (P > 0.05).The additive supplementation of broiler feeds using probiotics (Saccharomyces cerevisae) had no adverse effect on the sensory evaluation of the experimental birds and can be safely used as growth promoters in broiler production
