Effect of Salary Administration on Workers Motivation (a Case Study of Federal College of Education, Zaria)

Abstract
This study examines the effect of salary administration on workers' motivation at the Federal College of Education, Zaria. Salary administration plays a crucial role in determining employee productivity, job satisfaction, and retention. However, many public institutions in Nigeria face challenges such as low wages, irregular salary payments, and inadequate fringe benefits, which negatively impact workers' motivation and efficiency. Poor salary administration often results in dissatisfaction, low morale, reduced commitment, and increased turnover among employees. This study adopts a descriptive survey research design, utilizing structured questionnaires to collect data from 325 employees, including both academic and non-academic staff. Data analysis was conducted using percentage analysis and chi-square tests to establish the relationship between salary administration and motivation.
