Abstract
ABTRACT Hepatitis B virus (HBV) kills millions of people globally; it is worse in pregnant women. HBV and Human Immune Virus (HIV) co-infection is associated with increased liver diseases such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. HIV-HBV co-infection among pregnant women and theirs newborns, exacerbating maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, correlate, and determinants of HBV- HIV co-infection among pregnant woman attending antenatal care services at General Hospital Ise- Ekiti local government area. This study investigated the relationship between demographic characteristics and health knowledge and practices among pregnant women. A total of 100 pregnant women participated in the study. The result show a significant association between education level and health outcomes. Specifically, women with higher education levels demonstrated better health knowledge and practices. The study's finding highlight the importance of education in improving health outcomes among pregnant women. The results have implications for healthcare providers, policymakers, and education programs aimed at promoting health knowledge and practices among pregnant woman.
