Abstract
ABSTRACT This project analyzed and explored better internal cooling techniques for a gas turbine blade. The base conventional design (GE F404) was modified into two separate cooling configuration; the 45° angled ribs and wavy ribs. Conjugate Heat Transfer(CHT) Simulation were performed on all three models, and the result of the two modified model were compared to that of the base model for improvement. The 45° ribs and the wavy ribs both displayed significant improvement in heat transfer performance. This finding suggests that both the 45° rib and wavy rib offer promising avenue for cooling gas turbine blades.
