Effect of Electronic Fraud on the Performance Commercial Banks in Nigeria

Abstract
The study focused on the effect of E-Fraud on the Performance of Commercial Banks in Nigeria.The specific objectives were to examine the effect of ATM fraud on the performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria, evaluate the effect of POS fraud on the performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria and evaluate the effect of Mobile Banking on the performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria. The study was limited to five deposit banks in Osun State. The study utilized ex-post facto research design.Statistical Package for Socio Science (SPSS) was utilized as statistical tools. Regression method of data was used to analyze hypothesis at 5% level of significant. The study found that Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and Mobile Banking has contributed significantly to the variation of performance in Nigeria Deposit Money Banks.Furthermore, it was discovered that Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Mobile Banking has a positive and significance effect on the performance, while Point of Sales (POS) has a positive and insignificant influence on the performance in Nigeria Deposit Money Banks. Hence, the study concluded that electronic fraud has made significant effect on the performance on the performance of Deposit Money Banks. Therefore, the study recommended that banks should ensure adequate investment in the sophisticated technologies to ensure the availability of electronic banking facilities for efficient and effective delivery of services
