Teaching Practice Challenges Faced by Economics Student Teachers of Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria

Abstract
The study explored the perceived teaching practice challenges faced by Economics student-teachers in Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. The study adopted the survey research design. The population consisted of 630 part three and part four students. A sample of 100 part three and four students was selected using simple random sampling techniques. A total of 100 questionnaires were administered as instrument for the study. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage method. Based on the findings, the study confirmed that within the students teaching practice experience, student teachers encounter difficulties that results to different challenges which have made the exercise ineffective as regards achieving the goals for which it was set up. Possible solutions to the challenges were provided such as classroom management, lesson planning, time management, managing workload, assessment and feedback. Finally, it was recommended that proper attention should be given to the classroom management by the student teachers in order to achieve the objectives at the end of the lesson in the classroom and adequate curriculum guidelines, facilities, reference materials like textbooks, should be made available to facilitate effective and efficient teachings and learning.
