Predictors of Sports Facilities Management in Government Secondary Schools in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State

Abstract
ABSTRACT The main purpose of the study was to investigate the predictors of sport facilities management in Government Secondary Schools in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State. To achieve the purpose of this study; four research questions were posed and translated into four null hypotheses. A detailed review of literature was carried out to ascertain what information already exists on the variables of the study. Correlational research design was considered most appropriate for the study. The population of the study is made up of 64 principal, vice principal and physical education teacher in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State. All the respondents were all used for the study four-point Likert scale questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection; the instrument was duly validated. To test the hypotheses formulated for the study, simple linear regression statistical tool was used for data analysis. the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result obtained from analysis of data and testing of hypotheses in the study revealed that; funding, administrative support/disposition, engagement of trained physical education teacher and availability of maintenance device significantly predict sports facilities management in secondary schools in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State. Recommendations among others were made that physical education teacher should be sent on in- service training this will help them with the latest technology on maintenance of sport facilities management, as well as suggestions for further research.
