Impact of Problem-Based Learning on Students Academic Achievement and Interest in Chemistry Among Senior Secondary Schools in Kumbotso L.g.a, Kano State

Abstract
This study investigate the impact of problem-based learning (PBL) on students academic achievement and interest in chemistry among secondary schools in kumbotso local government. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. The study involved 145 students from SS3,who were divided into PBL and traditional teaching groups. Results shows that students in the PBL group demonstrated significant improvements in academic achievement and interest in chemistry compared to those in the traditional teaching group. The study recommended that PBL should be use as an Effective instructional strategy for enhancing students learning outcomes and motivation in chemistry. And also, stakeholders should develop assessment tools that capture both academic achievement and interest in chemistry.
