Influence of Body Composition on Performance of Student Athletes at the University of Benin

Abstract
This study aims at exploring the influence of body composition on performance of student athletes at the university of benin, to find out how body composition affects athletic performance. The research design adopted was the descriptive survey research design and the research instrument used was a self structured questionnaire. Responses was collected from a sample of 80 student-athletes from a population which consists of 100 student athletes. The demographic data was analyzed using frequency and percentage. The responses to each item were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. From the findings, it was discovered that body composition significantly influences athletic performance of the student athletes. Also it was discovered that balancing body composition helps one's future career, create training programs and optimize athletic performance.
