Abstract
ABSTRACT Cyclophosphamide (CP), a potent chemotherapeutic and immunosuppressive agent, is widely used to treat various cancers and autoimmune diseases. Despite its therapeutic efficacy, CP administration is associated with significant toxic side effects, particularly cardiotoxicity and pulmonary toxicity. This study aims to assess the toxic effects of cyclophosphamide on the heart and lungs of adult Wistar rats. The study involves histological examination and evaluation of toxicity levels in the heart and lungs after administering different doses of cyclophosphamide. The results will provide insight into the extent of damage caused by cyclophosphamide, potentially guiding further research and regulatory considerations. Through a detailed analysis of tissue samples and statistical comparison across different dosage groups, this research seeks to enhance our understanding of CP-induced toxicity and contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate its adverse effects.
