Abstract
ABSTRACT This work focuses on the pragmatic analysis of the parable of Jesus. The research work employed the Speech Act Theory as the theoretical framework. The secondary method of data collection is used in this long essay as the data was gotten from the Bible. Relevant information gotten from books and journals are classified as secondary data. The study reveals that the messages conveyed in the parables remain timeless and universally relevant. Though originally addressed to a specific cultural and historical audience, the themes of vigilance, accountability, and divine love transcend time, relating with modern readers and listeners. The findings highlight the masterful use of strategies in Jesus’ parables, demonstrating their effectiveness in communicating profound spiritual truths. By employing familiar imagery, layered meanings, and direct applications, the parables challenge, comfort, and inspire listeners. They encourage spiritual growth, and readiness for the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promises.
