Compensation and Workers Performance in Etsako West Local Government Council, Auchi Edo State

Abstract
Abstract This study is on compensation package and workers performance in Etsako west Iocal government council, Edo State. The specific objectives of the study are To identify the factors that determine compensation packages in Etsako West Local Government Council, examine whether workers at different level of Etsako West Council perceive themselves as equal in terms of compensation packages and identify if compensation packages have brought about job satisfaction or otherwise to the workers (both junior and senior staff). The population of the study was 2600 and sample size was 346. The method of data analysis was chi - square (X) regression. The findings show reveals that; there are specific factors that determine compensation packages in Etsako West Local Government Council. In this case, it was found that money is a compensation package and the most capable of motivating employees to in Etsako West Local Government Council and other organizations, that junior staff perceive themselves to be given significantly less compensation package with incentives than senior staff and that compensation packages have brought about job satisfaction and increased performance to the workers of Etsako West Local Government Council. Among other recommendations the study recommends that administrators of the organizations should provide Commensurate monetary compensation alongside non-financial benefits such as Tiexible working arrangements, opportunities for growth and development, recognition programs, and work-life balance initiatives.
