Abstract
This study investigates the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on organisational profitability, using United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Osogbo, Osun State as a case study. The main objective is to examine how CSR practices such as community development, environmental protection, employee welfare, and customer satisfaction contribute to the financial performance of the bank. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to UBA staff and customers in Osogbo, Osun State. Both primary and secondary data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical tools. The findings revealed that CSR initiatives have a significant positive relationship with organisational profitability, as they enhance corporate image, customer loyalty, and employee commitment, which in turn improve financial performance. The study concludes that effective CSR implementation not only benefits society but also drives long-term profitability for the organization. It is recommended that UBA and other financial institutions should increase investment in CSR activities as a strategic tool for achieving sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
