A Functional Departmental Website for Result Uploading and Checking: Design and Implementation of a Staff and Student Profile Management System

Abstract

In the academic environment, course allocation, registration and result processing are critical activities for academic staff and students. The need for an efficient and streamlined system led to the development of a functional departmental website for result uploading and checking. This project focuses on creating a functional departmental website for result uploading and checking, with specific emphasis on student and staff profiles. The system is built using modern web technologies including Vue.js, PrimeVue, Express.js, Node.js, Passport.js, and MongoDB. A detailed study of the existing manual processes highlighted significant inefficiencies and challenges, which were addressed through the development of the automated system. The manual activities were reimagined using an agile methodology approach, resulting in a robust, user-friendly digital solution. This system not only centralizes the storage, management, and dissemination of result information but also provides various reporting capabilities essential for departmental operations. The implementation demonstrates significant improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of course registration, and result processing for the Department of Computer Science, FUTO and is adaptable for use in other departments and universities if need be.
