Public Relations Activities and the State of Roads in Selected Riverine Area in Biase

Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aimed at investigating the public relations activities and state of roads in selected riverine Area in Biase LGA. To achieve this, four objectives were formulated to guide the study. The study focused on identifying the selected communities in Biase LGA of Cross River State. The concepts and literature were reviewed according to the scope of the study. The study anchored on social responsibility theory. The study adopted the survey research method. The study was conducted in Biase LGA of Cross River State. The population of this study comprised residents of Biase LGA. The respondents included farmers, students and civil servants. The sample size however comprised 400 respondents. The sampling technique employed in this study was the systematic random technique. The questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. The data were analyzed, using simple percentage tables. The findings of the study indicated that media outreach can be used in addressing the issues of inaccessible roads in Biase LGA of Cross River State. The findings also revealed that road planning and design can be a media relation strategy used in solving the issues of inaccessible roads in Biase LGA. The study concluded that improving rural roads reduces transport costs and stimulates marketing among riverine Area in Biase L.G.A. The study recommended That PR practitioners should work with media outlets to cover stories on inaccessible roads, creating public discourse and putting pressure on relevant authorities for improvements.
