Abstract
This research explores the significance of prepositions in the anthology "Rawdat Al-Ash'ar" by Saleem Ali Al-Ghadawi, focusing on selected examples from the collection. The study aims to analyze the semantic, grammatical, and contextual roles that prepositions play in enriching poetic expression and enhancing the aesthetic and rhetorical value of Arabic poetry. It highlights how prepositions contribute to meaning formation, emotional depth, and syntactic cohesion within poetic structures. The research employs a descriptive and analytical method, examining various instances of prepositions to reveal their diverse meanings and artistic uses. Findings show that prepositions in Al-Ghadawi’s poetry are not merely linguistic connectors but powerful stylistic tools that shape imagery, emphasize themes, and reflect the poet’s creativity and mastery of language.
