Abstract
The study focused on "The Roles of Human Resources Management in Enhancing Productivity in The Construction Industry in Akwa Ibom State". A sample size 89 respondents was selected for the study. The instrument of the study was a self-developed questionnaire and the forms were personally administered. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed to analyse the data. Analysis of data revealed that the complexity of tasks can affect the speed and efficiency of the workforce negativity thus hindering effective and better production. It was also revealed Access to equipment and machineries, technological integration, and innovation posted serious challenges in the management of human resources in the construction industry. It was recommended among others Manager of construction industry should ensure ambiguity of project size for easy understanding and execution. Proper allocation of human, material, and financial resources remain very essential. This would encourage proper utilization of all available resource for better productivity. It was also recommended that Pairing experienced employees with less experienced workers to share knowledge by introducing monitoring program whereby the newly and less experienced get grinded.
