Abstract
Transportation of agricultural produce plays a crucial role in the efficiency and sustainability of the agricultural value chain. This study analyzes the key challenges affecting the effective transportation of agricultural products, particularly in rural and developing regions. It identifies factors such as poor road infrastructure, inadequate transport facilities, high fuel costs, and logistical inefficiencies as major obstacles. The research also examines the impact of these challenges on post-harvest losses, market access, and income for farmers. Using a mixed-method approach combining field surveys, interviews, and secondary data, the study offers insights into how transportation inefficiencies hinder agricultural productivity. Finally, the paper proposes strategic recommendations for improving rural transportation networks, integrating modern logistics solutions, and formulating supportive policies to enhance the timely and cost-effective delivery of produce from farms to markets.
