Abstract
The impact of lead cannot be overemphasized in today’s world and its hazardous effect on the human race. Its exposure is a significant environmental health challenge that calls for attention.
Lead is known to cause compulsive stress and structural damage to different organs in the body, especially the lungs. This research examines the effect of an immune booster on lung oxidative markers in male Wistar rats exposed to lead, and the parameters assessed include body weight, lung weight, lung relative weight, and oxidative stress markers such as malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione (GSH), glutathione S-transferase (GST), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Also, lung histology was examined to observe structural changes induced by lead exposure and any protective effects of the immune booster intervention.
