Administrative Roles of Parent-Teacher Association and Secondary School Effectiveness in Ado Local Government

Abstract
The study examined the relationship between administrative roles of parent teachers’ association and school effectiveness in Ado Local Government, Ekiti State. The research design in the study is a descriptive research design. The population of the study consisted teachers in secondary schools in Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The sample for the study consisted of one hundred and forty (140) respondents which comprise of ten teachers each from fourteen (14) secondary schools. The instruments used in this study for the purpose of data collection are two close-ended questionnaires designed by the researcher. The questionnaires are titled “Secondary School Effectiveness Questionnaire” (SEQ) and “Administrative Roles of Parent Teacher Association Questionnaire” (ARPTAQ). The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research questions were answered using descriptive statistics such as mean and percentage. The hypotheses were tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and all the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study revealed that there was significant relationship between administrative roles of parent teachers and secondary school effectiveness in public secondary schools in Ado local government.
