Developing a Sustainable Strategy for the Treatment of Domestic Waste Water in Auchi

Abstract
This project work was carried out to develop sustainable strategy for the treatment of wastewater in Auchi. The aim of this study is to identify the current method of treatment, ascertain the effectiveness of the current method of treatment and to develop a short and long term strategies for the implementation of this method. A study on various methods of treating wastewater such as Trickling filter, Aeration tank, Oxidation ponds, Membrane technology, septic tank and soak away pit is more economical, sustainable and suitable to be adopted in Auchi. It is therefore recommended that septic tank and soak away pit should be adopted in Auchi.
