Abstract
ABSTRACT
Pot experiment was conducted at the Crop Science department horticultural garden, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto during the 2024 raining season to evaluate the effect of varying rates of cowdung application on growth and herbage yield of forage Maize (Zea mays L.) in the dry sub-humid zone of Sokoto, Nigeria. The treatment consisted of cow dung application of 0, 10, 20 and 30 t ha-1 at which were laid in a Randomize Complete Block Design (RCBD) replicated five times. Data was collected on Plant establishment count at 2WAS, plant height, number of leaves per plant, leaf length at 4, 6, 8 and 10 WAS, as well as fresh and dry matter yields at harvest (10 WAS).
