Abstract
The study examined the influence of Business Education Curriculum for Entrepreneurial Skills development among students in Delta State University, Abraka. Four research questions were raised and four null hypotheses were formulated for the study. The research design for the study was descriptive survey design and the population of the study comprises of 346 students across the four levels. The proportional Radom sampling technique was used to select 103 respondents, which formed 30% of the population. A total of 100 copies of questionnaires were retrieved from the 103 that was distributed. The data collected from the 100 respondents were presented, analyzed and discussed. Preliminary findings suggest that while the curriculum provides a foundational understanding of business principles, it falls short in equipping students with practical entrepreneurial skills necessary for self-employment and business creation. The study highlights the need for curriculum restructuring to incorporate more hands-on entrepreneurial training and partnerships with local industries to enhance real-world business experience. Recommendations include regular updates to the curriculum to reflect current market demands and the integration of digital marketing and resource management competencies. These changes are expected to better prepare graduates to become job creators, thereby addressing unemployment and contributing to economic development in Delta State.
