Impact of Information and Communation Technology in Teaching and Learning in Nigerian Polytechnics

Abstract
This project work titled “Impact of ICT in Teaching and Learning OTM in Nigeria Polytechnic (A case study of Kano State Polytechnic)” The aim of the project is to determine the problems that are usually encountered in the use of information and communication technology, to examine the availability of ICT gadgets in the process of teaching Office Technology and Management in Polytechnics and to determine the impact of ICT tools on the teaching and learning of Office Technology and Management in Polytechnics. The researcher reviewed different literatures in order to obtain relevant data. The population of the study was 547 academic staff of the polytechnic and mean score was used in analyzing the data collected from the respondents. It was revealed that the use of ICT facilities enhances lecturer/students performance in Kano state Polytechnic and using ICT facilities in Kano state Polytechnic provides dependency, fast learning process and quality information to the institutions. It was recommended that ICT facilities should be fully provided in every institution to ensure efficient and effective performance by lecturers in an institution. The adequate office technology motivate lecturers to put in more effort and the inadequate ones hinders the inflow of transaction in the institutions, therefore, institutions should see that ICT facilities are always adequate and they should guide against any measures that will lead to its unavailability.
